Races of Calania
There are many creatures and people roaming around Calania. They might not be original (most of them are commonly known), but at least the players and Games master know what they are dealing with. Most races are described in the following part:
Humans:
This is the most common race in Calania. Humans are of average height, and come in all sizes. Most Humans live up to 50 or 60 years of age. They can be found all over Calania. In the old days, before the Great Flood, they used to live in tribes scattered all over the place. From North to South, and from East to West. After the Great Flood (see History of Calania), the surviving Humans gathered in the North of Calania. Many tribes took their own territory and there were many battles fought over this. Being greedy of nature, they have taken most of Calania over the past centuries. After the war of the Flaming Blade, Humans and other races like Dwarves and Elves joined forces and are living in harmony since about 2 centuries now. Of course there are some arguments and reservations towards each other, but there is some kind of peace between those races. Having a short life expectance, humans try to get everything out of life. Their alignment goes from good to evil. Due to this, humans are very different from each other. They are good craftsmen and warriors. Many professions are possible for humans. Some Humans practice the Magic Arts, but this is not very common. When they are practicing Magic, they are known to be very powerful. When someone is practicing the Art of good (White) Magic, we speak of a Wizard, if he/she is practicing Evil (Black) Magic, we speak of a Sorcerer. If he/she is practicing the Art of Evil Magic, involving the animation of deceased victims, we speak of a Necromancer. This is the most powerful, but most corrupting way of Magic.
Professions: Thief, Warrior, Knight, Wizard Sorcerer Necromancer, Cleric, Paladin, Druid, Ranger, Archer and combinations of the above.
