In answer to this great gesture, Ashligard gave the messenger a note, saying that, If he would survive this oncoming onslaught, he would like to have a meeting with the noble sender of this Magical weapon. When the messenger returned and he had read the note from Ashligard, Alron realized he was dealing with a human with noble intentions. To give the meeting with this human warrior a bigger chance, he sent his personal division of bodyguards, "The Beer guards of Neg'Rak". These warriors were known for their courage and loyalty.

Shortly after the arrival of "the Beer guards", the massive Orc army began to move into the valley. There they stood, a small but determined army, against an overwhelming force of Orcs. Strengthened by "Elrandir" and the Dwarf reinforcements, Ashligard told his men to fight 'till the last drop of blood. Sure, his men would like to do that, but at the sight of this oncoming green horde, they lost all courage and confidence. The odds were over 10 to 1. What happened now has become legend. When the Orc armies were at about 200 yards of the defending army, "Elrandir" began to glow. Purple flames began to spread from the sword. At the sight of this phenomenon, the men found their courage and new battle lust came over them. Ashligard gave his horse spurs, and followed by his personal guard and cavalry, he stormed to the opposing forces. Meanwhile, catapults spread a carpet of fire over the coming Orc hordes. At a distance of 100 yards, (just outside arrow range) Ashligard commanded his guards and cavalry to stay where they were, until the first Orc fell. In the first group of advancing Orcs, he saw Shurlack. Without hesitation he galloped towards Shurlack, swinging "Elrandir" above his head. With one mighty blow, he severed Shurlacks' head off his shoulders. Panic came over the Orc ranks when they saw their leader fall. Meanwhile, Ashligard was hacking and slashing like mad, at the frontline of the Orcs. Ashligards' Guards and cavalry came to action, under the loud roar of battle cries.

Chaos was complete in the Orc masses, when suddenly they were attacked from behind by a rain of arrows from a gigantic Elf army. This Elf army had already been on it's way to aid Alron, to help him defend the Gorge of Kell'Car against the Human and Orc alliance. When Alron had sent his gift and his personal guards to Ashligard, he also sent a messenger to meet the Elf army of S'el uth Rahemonid, the Elf general. After receiving this message, S'el uth Rahemonid pushed his army to cut off the Orc retreat. "The Beer Guard of Neg'Rak" came over the left flank, and Ashligards' infantry over the right. The Orcs were cut off at all sides. Surprised with so much courage and attacks from all sides, blind panic swept over the green horde. Uncoordinated counterattacks failed, and soon the Orcs were slaughtered, killing most of them. S'el uth Rahemonid and the Elves were very surprised to see humans, turning against their Orc allies. While the battle was reaching his high, Alron came down from the mountains, with his complete army, and joined Humans and Elves to end this slaughter. This battle is recorded in history as : "The battle of the Flaming Blade".

After the battle, Ashligard, S'el uth Rahemonid, and Alron had a legendary meeting. They discussed peace plans, and made the foundations for what Calania is today. In Alrons' opinion, Ashligard had to lead the human race to new times. After signing the peace treaty, Ashligard went on his way to convince the other Human leaders, to cooperate with Elves and Dwarfs. His fame was ahead of him. What happened in the Gorge of  Kell'Car had already reached the leaders of other Human armies. Most of them were sensible enough to be convinced of the advantages of cooperation. Alas, not everyone saw things this way, and Ashligard had to make a new crusade, defending his good intentions. This took about three months. After this, the first steps were taken to develop a peaceful harmony.
